Aquarius Horoscope for April 2012

This is a big month! Once the new moon arrives, April 21, you are about to see amazing good fortune in regard to home and property matters. The new moon may prove so good for you as to leave you breathless. Be ready to launch into your new residential or family plan the moment that new moon arrives. It need not be a massive plan, say, to move - small touches will have a big effect, too, and make you and those with whom you share your space very happy.

You won't see any good news BEFORE April 21, but you will shortly AFTER. I will explain why this new moon is so extraordinary - not similar to what have come before or that will come in the coming DECADE - but first I want to tell you about two other sweet developments involving Mercury and Mars.

Mercury will turn direct on April 4, and in so doing, put an end a confusing period of indecision, setbacks, and delays that drove most everyone a little crazy from March 12 until now. Mercury's turn to normal direct speed means you can sign contracts, but I would wait a little longer - until April 21. Stay with me and I will explain.

On April 13, high-energy Mars will also turn direct, and this news is equally wonderful, for Mars can now help you to strengthen your financial outlook. Mars is touring your eighth house of mortgage, loans, venture capital, inheritance, court settlements, division of property (say, as is done in a divorce), and other such one-time lump sums that are due to you or that you filled out paperwork to get. Since last January 23, the date Mars went retrograde, a financial matter may have hung in limbo. Now that Mars will no longer be retrograde after April 13 means financial matters that have languished can push ahead in an energetic way - getting you results. This is good news for every sign, because Mars gives ventures the proper liftoff - without him, our efforts seem lackadaisical and fall flat.

Now you will not only have Mars strong, but Mercury too, so you can build a solid contractual agreement. You need the gifts of both Mercury and Mars to make for a successful venture. This is why I said earlier, don't sign papers the minute Mercury turns direct April 4. I want you to wait a few days beyond the date Mars turns direct too, on April 13. Again, I will explain.

Ideally, before you sign, you need to get beyond the month's most difficult aspect, Saturn opposed to the Sun, on Sunday, April 15. This is due to be a strenuous, difficult day for most people. Even if it is not a hard day for you, it may be for the people you are dealing with at the time, and so the negotiation is not likely to go well. The Sun rules Leo, and Leo rules your seventh house of collaborators and partners, and so this aspect points to anyone who you would be making a one-on-one deal with at the time. You may notice a subtle or outright lack of cooperation. Or someone you are aligned with may be overly critical or competitive with you. I don't want this to be a day you would ever build into the DNA of a new venture, and if you sign on this day, you would be taking precisely that action. For this reason as well as the others I have already mentioned, I want you to wait to sign papers until AFTER this day, as far as you can space yourself from it. Hopefully, you can sign on or just after April 21.

One stunning day for all real estate actions and all contractual, financial agreements will be Monday, April 23, when Mars will link home and financial matters into one beauty of a package.

Let's turn back to that new moon, for now, as you see, the stage will be set by both Mars and Mercury for decisive action.

I know that you may not find this time convenient to drop everything and focus on your living situation, but that new moon will open a tiny sliver of time that will be positively brilliant for home and family matters. You will have until May 13 to look at your options and take action. You won't have to fully complete your plans (although that would be wonderful if you could), but to take advantage of this fortunate portal of time, you would have to at least make a start.

When you have Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck AND a gorgeous new moon in one house of the horoscope, this adds up to a rare and important opportunity to transform a dream into a reality. This new moon is special because it will link the Sun, new moon, Pluto, and Mars into a golden triangle of harmony. Last year we had no golden triangles at all and that was a shame, for that's the best aspect you could ever want. This year, we have had several golden triangles in the front part of 2012 and this is one of the best. We will have none of these types of triangles of supreme harmony in the second half of this year - these configurations are exceedingly rare.

With the current position of Pluto, Mars, and the new moon, I feel you will have the money you need to make any home-related plan a reality. If you don't think so, check into possibilities, and start with a bank. Pluto is a financial planet, and Mars is currently touring your eighth house ruling loans, mortgage, inheritances, and so forth. Jupiter is in your house of home too, and although not part of the golden triangle, Jupiter brings not only luck, but also the means to take advantage of the bounty it brings. Jupiter would never just dangle an opportunity - he wants you to have it.

Neptune will also be involved, although not part of the triangle, and will be just as perfectly oriented. Neptune will signal the new moon from his perch in your financial house, suggesting you might decide to buy or sell valuable art this month, or if you are artistic, sell a piece of your work that brings you a tidy profit.

If you have to move, you are likely to find a beautiful new large space, airy, sunny, and light, that likely offers a view and roomy closets. Everything about Jupiter is expansive, and with Jupiter in your house of home, your house will be your version of a palace. Do not settle for any space less than your ideal one, within reason of course, but still, quite special.

Jupiter only comes by every 12 years to this part of your chart, so this is a very big, important trend that is peaking now through early May. Although Jupiter won't leave this part of your chart until June 11, something else is happening in the heavens to force me to trim your window of opportunity slightly, for ordinarily I might say you have until June 11. You don't, because Venus is about to retrograde, and Venus rules your solar fourth house of home. Venus will retrograde from May 15 to June 27.

This means you must wrap up your home-related decisions prior to May 15. Venus not only rules your solar fourth house of home but also is associated with money and the perceived value of things, in this case, your property. Venus also rules beauty and embellishment, so if you are buying or fixing up a space, you want it to be pleasing. All this means you will get far better results if you settle things after April 21 but prior to May 15.

Let's say you know you want to move. It would be a good idea to start looking at spaces, even if you think you are not yet ready. If you want to sell a house, and you get a good bid, unless you have Pisces rising, you may want to accept the offer you get now, or negotiate a little bit with the buyer, with the idea of finishing talks with legal papers no later than by May 13. (I like to keep space of day or two before a planet starts to retrograde, and Venus will turn on May 15.) If you need to renovate, collect estimates now and aim to award the job to your favorite contractor just after the new moon of April 21.

I said decide now, prior to May 13 "unless you have Pisces rising" because Pisces, and all those with Pisces rising, will have a year of real estate luck, beginning in mid-June 2012 through June 2013. Pisces will be the only sign to have this special favor. This is why it is critical to know your rising sign when making big decisions, such as to buy or sell a house. If you are Aquarius with Pisces rising, you may not have to rush - you have time, because the universe is going to be doubly sure you have the home of your dreams.

You need not take on a big home-related project, such as to buy or sell or a house, to take advantage of all that is about to happen this month. You may make small changes at home that have big impact, such as to paint a room or two, or to add a new piece of furniture. Suddenly your home would look very inviting and you will feel calmer and happier, too.

If you are not interested in changing your physical space, and you don't want to rent or buy a vacation home or other property to use these glittering aspects, you can do other things. You can buy china, glass, silverware, and other home furnishings for your home; order landscaping (a fabulous idea with three planets in Taurus, ruling gardening); or make needed repairs. You can paint a room a new color, or replace hardware, such as to replace ugly doorknobs with crystal ones, and so forth - small, relatively inexpensive details that, when attended to, can add a lot of polish.

Your parents are reflected in the fourth house of home, too, so your mother or father may bring you a lucky break or extraordinary support. Your parents may give or loan you a sum of money, say as a security deposit or as a down payment on a new house. Or, your parents may give you money not for home-related reasons, but to tide you over a rough patch, say, if you are unemployed. If you've been out of work a long time, you might consider moving back home so you can get back on your feet. Your chart suggests your parents would be glad to have you. If you are one of the many homeowners who are "under water" with a home worth less than the mortgage, go to your bank in late April. Jupiter is associated with miracles too, dear Aquarius.

If you have been worried about the health of one of your parents, Jupiter's placement in your fourth house now suggests your mother or father may show an upturn in health, much to your relief. I cannot see everything in your chart, of course, but from where I sit, one of your parents is blessed.

Let's now talk about the full moon, April 6, which will happen earlier this month. Compared to the emphasis on real estate, this will not be an important moment, as it pales in comparison. This full moon might see you returning from a long trip. I say "returning" because full moons usually bring things to a conclusion. If you find that you are heading out to another city in early April, I feel your trip would likely be a fast one, with a quick turnaround. Keep your health strong in early April, as there will be a lot going on in your life. With Pluto in hard angle to the full moon, you may feel drained.

This same house, which will bring culmination, rules citizenship matters, such as your efforts to get a green card or visa, or a passport in a new country. Pluto rules the government, and with Pluto in hard angle to this full moon, I am afraid I must say that you might incur problems. If you got married to a citizen of the country you are hoping to become a citizen of, immigration may give you a very tough interview. You simply don't have easy aspects. If you are not sure you can get your green card or other documentation, I suggest you delay this matter until October, when Saturn will be out of this house for good, for the first time in three years.

If you are part of the media, working in broadcasting, publishing, or the Internet, a big project seems to be coming to a finish. You may now be sending your manuscript, or you may see your book be published. If you have published some time ago, your book may go into a certain translation now. I have so much more to tell you about your career, and how sparkling your mind has become ever since Uranus entered Aries, but I will add those new things to your summary. There is just too much to tell you this month!

Romantically, you now have Venus settling in for a VERY long stay, from April 3 to August 7. Considering Venus only stays in a sign four weeks, you have won the jackpot of love with Venus in Gemini. The reason you get Venus in the perfect place, your fifth house of true love, in the perfect sign, Gemini, for so long, is that Venus will go retrograde for part of that time, May 15-June 27. Until then, you do have outstanding favor. I particularly love the interplay of Venus with Uranus over the weekend of April 7-8. Single Aquarians may find this weekend sparkles, especially on Sunday.

Your most romantic dates: April 5, 6, 7-9, 10 13, 14, 18, 23, 24, 15, 28, and 29.

During Venus retrograde, do not schedule plastic surgery or any radical changes to your looks, say, for example, with your hair. Venus rules good looks, so of course, you would not want to experiment with your looks when Venus is at her weakest.

It's so funny. Once Venus was retrograde, and I told readers not to dramatically change their looks. I was waiting for my gym to open up one Sunday morning, and I was talking to another member who was waiting to get in, too. She mentioned that she desperately needed a hair trim but couldn't do it. I asked why. She said she reads this site called Astrology Zone, and Susan Miller says, no haircuts when Venus is retrograde! My new acquaintance didn't know who I was and had no idea I had written what she just quoted! (What a funny feeling for me!) Oh gosh, when I told her I was Susan Miller, she didn't believe me. Finally, I pulled out a business card (that helped) and I explained you COULD order a trim and do other routine grooming, but just nothing radical during a Venus out of phase period. Since then, I am very careful to make this very clear in my writings to you!

Dear Aquarius, you have a wonderful forecast. Are you excited yet? Your whole life is about to turn a corner to one much better than the life you are leaving. With each passing month, things are about to get better and better! Next month, expect a big career development, early on!

Summary

Domestic matters may need to be sorted out this month, and thanks to deliciously cooperative planets, there is almost no home or family-related goal too big to achieve in late April. The new moon of April 21 will sound the bell to begin acting on your plans, and you may even get a sudden stroke of luck to get closer to a far-fetched home-related plan. You currently have Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, in your fourth house of home, but until now, needed an important new moon to set things in motion. Now you have it on April 21, so the actions you take in the two weeks to follow will have the power to change things for the better for a full year - or forever.

Once this great planet of good fortune, Jupiter, leaves this home and family sector, Jupiter will not be back for more than a decade. Your real estate luck and support from family is now is extraordinary, so find a way to use it on any level, large or small. Think long and hard about what you hope for your home - this is the time to take an important step.

You seem to spending more money than usual, possibly because you are about to undergo a lifestyle change. Often a massive change, such as to move to a new city, a marriage, advent of a new baby, or the start a new business, causes lots of check-writing. Levels will remain high for you through the first part of July, but will quickly simmer down after that.

Your mind has been popping with ideas, thanks to your ruler, Uranus, now visiting your third house of ideas, concepts, and communication. You may be considering the idea of writing a book, such as a novel or screenplay, or starting to write for a prestigious magazine. You may, alternatively, go on the lecture circuit, or become a TV producer, as a few examples. Certainly you do not lack ideas, so all you need is the will to see your project or goal clear to completion. Uranus is not leaving your communication / writing / speaking / directing house anytime soon - you've got six years to make your dream materialize - and later this year, the piece of the puzzle will fall into place.

Your career is about to bring exciting new conditions, and as Saturn edges closer to your tenth house, to enter in October, you will gradually move into an important new position. Once you see the shifts happening, you will notice that you will be required to stretch to new standards and to master entirely new skills. The process will take time, but if you focus on your plan, you will scale dizzying new heights. Although the journey may be hard at times, it will be one of the true adventures that form the basis of your life. You've been aching for something more, and Saturn's arrival in October will get you moving and provide you with all you need to reach your full potential.

Romantically, Venus' move into your true love sector for an extraordinarily long stretch (four months) will increase your ability to hypnotize any person you set your gaze on. Your outlook for this year is fantastic and will continue to build to a much higher pitch in the second half of 2012. Have faith that you are moving in the right direction, for later this year, love will consume you, growing ever more brightly like a beautiful, big hibiscus flower in full bloom.

A trip taken on April 9 should bring lots of surprises - good ones! This comes from Venus and Uranus, your new best friends!

The Sun and Saturn will be at odds on April 15, not the best time to travel. Difficulties may come up.

Venus will be in highly compatible Gemini from April 3 to May 9. This is a great time to improve your looks, choose a fragrance, or buy new clothes.

The new moon April 21 will open up sensational real estate opportunities in the two weeks that follow. This could be big!

You may sell your artistic or writing services on April 21 or 22, plus or minus two days - and it would be exciting!

Mars will go direct on April 13 and from then on you will find your financials easier to manage. Expenses may go up, but they seem necessary.

Pluto, the ruler of your tenth house of fame, will retrograde on April 10. From then until September 17, you may need to tweak or redo your career strategy. Don't freak - it's temporary.

A Letter to My Readers From Susan Miller

A New Title to My Book, "The Year Ahead 2012 and Beyond"

The great sportswriter, Red Smith, once said, "There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." Now we use computers to write, but the experience the same. Anyone who has ever written a book will agree, it's hard work, but ultimately the most satisfying work you could do on earth. I love to write.

I listened to all you had to say about last year's book. You wanted more pages. You wanted an annex on the nuances of Mercury Retrograde and also on How to Deal with Eclipses. I read what I had written before and that I had posted for you on my site, and those chapters were not good enough. I ripped those chapters apart and added a lot of new material in each. I added a short piece on December 21, 2012, which is the end date of the Mayan calendar and also addressed the controversy about whether you are the sign you think you are (yes), and also addressed whether there is another thirteenth sign (no), and explained why I feel the way I do.

When I was working on each of the signs, I saw that Jupiter would move into Gemini mid-year, to stay until the middle of 2013. When Neptune moved into Pisces on February 3, 2012, this year, this planet of imagination was to stay in Pisces for fourteen years, until January 26, 2026. When Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, Pluto was prepared to stay - and work on our attitudes toward money - until 2024. Uranus entered Aries last March 11, 2012, to stay until March 6, 2019. Saturn is to move into Scorpio on October 4, 2012, this year, to stay until September 17, 2015. Not all years are the same. As I wrote, I realized in 2012 we were in a year of exceptional change, and each of us was about to transverse from one shore to another. As we gradually cross that bridge, we all would be in the process of saying goodbye to much of our past and walking bravely toward a very new future. It took me time to make sense of all this planetary traffic. Not all signs would feel the shifts of all the planets. For example, Aquarius would feel the move of Uranus to Aries very directly (as Uranus is this sign's ruler), but not be as affected by Pluto in Capricorn. I wanted to pinpoint what was new and fresh with the times we were living in, for no one wants a rerun of past years - and happily I found plenty of evidence of that.

As I wrote, I asked my publisher that we change the name of my book, from the "Year Ahead 2012" to the "Year Ahead 2012 and Beyond." I was spending time looking ahead, and discussing the change in attitude and societal shift some of these planets would have, but I also wanted to look back, to show you where you've been. You are never born brand new into any emerging year, of course, for you bring joys, disappointments, fears, victories, dreams, and a host of experiences and emotions with you into the New Year. Those have to be acknowledged too, so I worked hard at not just trying to walk in your shoes but to actually become you as I wrote, and to see the world as you do, through your eyes, in the light of all your recent experiences as told to me by the planet's positions.

I feel being active on Twitter has made me a better astrologer. I read your posts, and because tweets are short, I can see a great many of your thoughts and experiences. Writing my Year Ahead 2012 Illustrated Calendar (with fine artist Gloria Vanderbilt's work) was a good way for me to carefully study the year's details. I had to first memorize all the planetary positions, and like a forensic scientist see how the planets interconnected with one another to create change.

I saw, for example, that Jupiter was going into Gemini, and that the eclipses in Gemini-Sagittarius this year were destined to speed the progress of Jupiter's good work. New eclipses in the family of Scorpio-Taurus would later work with Saturn, once he moves into Scorpio in October. Uranus and Pluto meanwhile will work to give birth to a new world order. I had discussed that in my essay in my Year Ahead 2012 Calendar, and I don't use the same essays in the book and the calendar. In the front of my book, I hope you will see the essays I wrote on the feel of the year, and how it differs from last year. All kinds of connections were occurring to me, as I saw how the planets were working, not independently, but inter-dependently, to sweep out the old and outmoded, and to bring light to areas of society that need to be addressed.

This week, I will be writing the chapter on Pisces, my last chapter of the book. After that, the book will be done. Each chapter is massive, at least four times or more of the size you are used to seeing in Astrology Zone. We are attempting to put my work into your hands by the new moon April 21, at least digitally. Kindle and Nook will be the first to publish the book, and we are working with a new content manager at Apple, and hope we won't suffer the delays that we had on the iPad last year due to the way manuscripts move through the publication process at Apple. We are learning.

My publisher, Arthur Heydendael, is printing a traditional paper book very quickly. Creative director Jackie Meyer, the former Creative Director of Warner Books, is laying out the quality paperback version of my book. Jackie did the layout of all my calendars and also designed my book last year. I hope you will keep this year's book, as some of the material will be relevant to you in years to come.

I deeply appreciate your patience and support. Writing a book would be a tad easier if I weren't writing 45,000 words for Astrology Zone each month, but I love writing my forecasts for you each month, and I am cheered by knowing that at least you have had all the information you have needed as you awaited the finish of my book.

Discover your rising sign, the most important element to learn!

If you don't know your rising sign, you won't get quite as much out of my monthly forecasts on Astrology Zone or my daily forecasts on cell phones (or delivered to your email box daily by Daily Astrology Zone). To have your chart done, you would need to know your precise time of birth, to the minute. If you do know it, then you would be wise to have your natal chart done. Once you do, you can memorize your rising sign, for it will never change. This explains why all Aries are not alike, or all Gemini - we are all a beautiful, rich combination of the rising sign and Sun sign, as well as a tapestry of the other planets. On the day you were born, the pattern in the sky will never be repeated in time or space - you are truly unique. What a magical piece of information!

Your natal chart will never change - it stays the same for life! You need only do your natal chart once and never again. Once you do have your chart, you will get more insight into your innate gifts and personality strengths.
